A clean table

My table top resurfaced!

I am sure this is very common among scrapbookers... table being covered by so many things that you cannot see the table top. This happens very often on my table! But at least I don't scrap in the living room so my dining table is spared.

Finally tidy up my table today. But I am sure it won't be long before it is cluttered again! :p

Egg yolk moon

While I was taking the bus home, I saw something orange in the sky. It was hidden in the trees so I had to wait for the bus to move before I can see what it was.

It's the moon! Today is the 15th of the lunar month and the moon was so round! Simply beautiful! I have not seen such a big round moon for a long time.

Messaged one of the photo gang and asked Yeow Ming to help me to shoot the moon. He just finished dinner and was reluctant to take out his camera. But in the end he did!

This was shot with Canon 300mm lens with extension tube of 1.4x+2x.

Thank you! You made my day!

Organza flowers on my lamp shade

Spent a leisurely day at home yesterday. Hubby did not have to go to work and he has finished his assignment so he's a happy man! We spent the afternoon watching "Percy Jackson & The Olympians: The Lightning Thief". It's a good movie!

While he took a nap, I prepared dinner and made these flowers! Light pink, gold and fushsia. The gold color looks so yellowish on my camera though.

I saw the poppy flowers made by Irene-Gwen and they were so pretty! I made mine with organza only and hand sewn the pearls.

Decorated my lamp shade with the flowers. Nice?

I gave 1 to my colleague. She wants to use it as a hair decoration for her Blythe doll. Waiting for her to take a photo and show me!

I still have some and will be selling them at S$5 for 3pcs, 1 color each. I will ship them free via normal post. If you are interested, email to me at ohsinchan@gmail.com.

Earth Hour 2010

Went out shopping the whole day! So tired! Had to ask hubby to come and fetch me and we bought a foldable table. Yes, I can have a crop party soon!

By the time we reached home, it's already 9.15pm, 15mins to the end of Earth Hour. Lighted the candles so that we can see in the dark. Hubby went to return the car to my parents so I was alone. So I brought out my camera and took pictures!

Hubby said I burnt carbon dioxide by lighting the candles, which is not good for Mother Earth. He said we are playing our part every day already, by using LED lights and energy efficient bulbs. I always try not to turn on too many lights to save electricity. But he likes the house to be brightly lit! *Faint

a short break from scrapbooking

Surprised and happy to see so many comments on my Webster's Pages Be Mine LO and the Cutie Pie Chloe canvas piece. Thank you all for your kind and encouraging words! :)

One of my colleague 'complained' that my recent posts on Facebook are all on scrapbooking! Haha! So I am taking a short break from scrapbooking and go on to my other hobbies. Gosh! I still have many unedited photos to go through! And recipes to try! And shopping to do!

It is not good to have too many hobbies, no?

Cutie Pie Chloe

I did a canvas piece! This is Chloe, my cousin. Isn't she a cutie pie?!

Very inspired by Betty's art! She's so good at mixed media. I tried but as I do not like to get dirty (she knows that!), my canvas piece is considered very neat!

I submitted this for All Things Donna competition. I think this is not very 'Donna' style! But I had fun creating this, playing with my mists.

Hopefully I will be able to get back this piece and give it to my cousin.

Be Mine

Had diarrhea since Sat night. Went to see the doctor this morn and waited 2.5hrs at the clinic! It's always crowded on Mon!

The pain persisted and I couldn't sleep. So I started to scrap. Took out the new Webster's Pages papers and created this LO.

This LO will go into the album of my on-going project of scrapping our wedding photos. I was motivated to create this by Made With Love March "Lift Me #2" challenge hosted by Emeline. The criteria is to scrap a 12x12 layout with scallops and swirls on it. Can you see all the scallops paper punches, lace, pearls? I added this swirly chipboard font "Be Mine" from Buzz and Bloom and of course Prima bling bling swirls is a must!

Took me quite long to finish this LO but I am pleased with it! Love this photo. So happy that this man is MINE! :)

Farewell card

My big big boss is retiring and returning to Japan. We treated him to lunch last week and I thought of making a card for him.

This is the simple card I made.

He loves gardening and flowers. He often told me about his garden at the back of his house in Japan. I think he will miss work so I found this phrase "the end of one thing is only the beginning of another". I believe he will find ways to keep himself occupied when he retires!

If you like handmade cards, check out the cards made by SimplyPrincessy. She takes custom orders too!

Bitten by the scrapbooking bug

My friend contacted me the other day and told me she is interested in scrapbooking. She attended the SDU course a few months later but after completed a LO for a friend, she stopped.

We went to MWL and Papermarket today and had a fun time shopping! She likes shabby chic designs so I introduced her to Jaz's class. She will be attending the class at Papermarket next Mon!

Happy to find a friend that is bitten by the scrapbooking bug! We can go BBB (buy buy buy) together next time! Cheers to friendship and scrapbooking!

Prima Product Pick - March

Look at these lovely Green Prima products!

I am not a very green person but these are very lovely! Can I have all of them???

Check out Prima website for more of their gorgeous products!

Love you, kiss you, hug you, FEED YOU

When I saw Fun Friday Challenge with Ed at Laines, I know immediately which photo to use!

This LO is full of Cosmo Cricket goodies! I think this is the 1st time I scrap and use stuffs mostly from 1 brand on a LO. Some stickers are from 7gypsies and American Craft thickers fonts.

My hubby is showing off my famous baked chicken wings here. I love to cook and since we got married more than 1yr ago, he has 'grown' so much!

Glamourous gal

Another gorgeous LO by Pearl, using my photos of Giselle!

Loves how she matches the color and pattern of Giselle's dress with the LO! Check out the close up of the muddy effect she created with glimmer mist at her blog!

Pearl is also giving a giveaway at her blog but hurry! It's closing tomorrow!

Photo gang party

Did this LO for one of my photo gang couple, Siak Wai and Angela.

The group of us attended their wedding in Jan and someone helped to take this photo for us. We are often the one behind the camera so having the group of us at the other side of the camera is quite rare!

The couple likes to take nature, macro and birds photo so I thought this Webster's page with lots of greenery is suitable. Added the owl and the butterflies. The big camera is from Hambly. Found this phrase on the velum which I like: "Special people brighten the season and warm our hearts."

Hope the couple like this LO!

mini baby album

I have a younger sister and she is very different from me. She cannot understand why I have so many hobbies and thinks that they are a waste of money!

She has been pestering me to make something for her baby so I finally made a mini baby album. Her baby will be born soon so this will help her to record the baby's arrival.

This is Maya Road Classic Label chipboard coasters, using papers from Melissa Frances, Jenni Bowlin and K Co.

Waiting to be filled with records, notes, journaling and photos.

A page for mummy.

A page for daddy.

And one for dear baby.

She better likes it because I spent a lot of time making this!

Dashing through the crowds

I paid someone a visit today... someone whom I do not wish to see. I delayed and delayed and finally went today.

I went to see the DENTIST!

I have a fear of the dentist since young. I am lucky to have straight teeth but I have weak gums. It does not help that I do not brush properly so every visit I will get some sort of 'lecture' and 'lesson' on how to brush my teeth. Today's visit was not very painful but I have to go back for a review 2 weeks later. I think I will delay that visit as usual!

After that I went to the IT Show to get some stuffs for my colleagues and friends. In the morning, I already received many sms from friends asking if I am going and asking me to recommend a camera.

I didn't manage to get my ink cartridges because they were all sold out again! These are what I helped my colleagues and friend to buy. Portable hard disk drives, optical mouse, card reader, SD card, USB vacuum cleaner and laptop cover.

I feel like a busy Santa, dashing through the crowds today!

12 March 2010

Prize from Buzz and Bloom

Remember I won the Buzz and Bloom tabbed book kit competition?

I received the prize today!

Didn't expect the prize to come in such a big carton box filled with so many goodies!!! Buzz and Bloom is very generous!

THANK YOU!!!

IT Show 2010

Went to IT Show just now. I want to get some ink cartridge for my Epson printer and help my sister to get a portable hard disk. The price of hard disk keeps dropping, it is so cheap now!

But I didn't get my ink cartridge. Because it is all SOLD OUT! Unbelievable! Either it is very popular or they did not plan well to stock up enough. They said they will replenish it tomorrow.

So I have to go down again this weekend to get them. Will just dash through the crowds, grab what I want and get out fast! It's so crowded just now, it will be even worse on weekends!

Hubby is departing for his dive trip tomorrow night to Malaysia. He is very excited, going to take his advanced open water diving course.

I am freeeeee this weekend!

Washi tape

I am a lover of pretty things, colorful things, sweet things. When I first saw washi tapes at some websites last year, I WANT them! I really want them badly!!!

It was not available in Singapore then and I tried ways to get them! I got most of these MT masking tapes from Japan.

These are with prints on them.

The holder for these tapes is from Daiso. It is actually a dish drying rack.

Now you can get the washi tapes from Bad Girls site! Go grab them!

I use these masking tape mostly to seal envelopes for my overseas swap. They make a plain envelope much more interesting! I can also write on it and also use it to stick photos on a wall. Check the website for more ideas on how to use them!

07 March 2010

Alice in Wonderland

I went with hubby to watch Alice in Wonderland today. The weather is really hot these few days so what better way to escape from the heat than to enjoy a movie in the cold comfort of the cinema!

I love 3D movies! Go watch Alice in Wonderland in 3D!

Inspired by Alice in Wonderland, Julie created this inspiration board the other day.

Check out the details on the Bad Girls site! Go shop!!!

Castle album

When I saw this lovely castle on Lynn's blog, it reminded me of mine! I have the same Kaisercraft album and did an album of our home last year.

This album contains photos of our love nest and I use all sort of papers and embellishments.

Welcome in! This is the living room.

This is our photo and wine area, and our bedroom. The glass cabinet used to store my branded bags. But due to space constraint in my room, I gave it to hubby to put his precious glassware and wine.

This is my 'country style' kitchen. I cook, hubby does the washing up!

This is my room, a place where I scrap, edit photos, store my collection of Hello Kitty, Precious Moments, Hard Rock Cafe shotglasses, Rement miniature etc etc. It is usually in a mess! :p

I completed this album last year in Oct, after many months of procrastination and preparation! I am so glad when it was done and I really like it! This is our 1st matrimonial home and we spent quite a fair amount of time and money on it. We will be living in this HDB flat for at least 5 years and more so I want to document it down.

Good luck to Lynn on her try on G45 DT! You go gal!!!

Giselle's LOs by Pearl

Pearl asked if she can use my photos of Giselle (my colleague who was our photo model a few weeks ago) to make a LO. I checked with Giselle and she readily agreed.

In less than a day, Pearl made this LO for Giselle!

This is another one she made.

Giselle was simply delighted to see the LOs! Thank you Pearl!!! I am also very happy to see how you bring life into the photos I took! :)

Do check out Pearl's blog for her amazing work. I really envy her for churning out her 'Paperfections' so fast and furious!

Webster's Pages new collection

The long awaiting Webster's Pages new collection finally reached our shores!

Apparently I am not the only one who loves their papers, there were many people snatching them up at Made With Love! Sorry Sharon, I got the last piece of one of the papers!

I fell in love with Webster's after attending Jaz's class at Laines. These are the 2 LOs I made at the class.

Webster's Pages papers are perfect for wedding photos! It was because of these 2 LOs that I started my 'project' to scrap my wedding photos. Unfortunately this project is progressing at a very slow speed! I always find it difficult to scrap my own photos!! Grrghh!!

The new Lullaby Lane collection is beautiful! I do not have any kids of my own but I take many photos of children and my nephew is going to be born soon! Can't wait to use the papers!

Sunny Wang

Sunny is the daughter of my friend's colleague. She turned 100 days old last Sat and her family asked me to help them take some photos of her.

She is so cute and chubby! With this blue outfit, she looks like a boy!

Her mum said she likes to laugh. However she was very sleepy after drinking her milk so despite coaxing from her enthusiastic grandparents, she just refused to smile!

This is the only shot of her smiling!

She fell asleep shortly so I took some family photos for them. Hope they like them!

Bad Girls Project 52 blinkie

I just got my Project 52 blinkie! Isn't it beautiful?!!!

Check out my fellow Bad Girls P52 team!

Their blog links are also the right of my blog. Can't wait to see what they will come out with for the challenges!

On the last day of CNY

I had a very very busy day yesterday!

Early in the morning, I went to shoot this cute little baby. She is 100 days old.

Then I went to my friend's house for lunch. Here are some of my friend's children.

Sophie chewing her socks... she loves to do that!

Handsome boy Ashton

Active Zach

There are other children but I didn't take many photos because I was too busy eating and chatting! :p

Then I rushed home for my family dinner. Mum cooked dinner for us. After dinner, the whole gang adjourned to my house for the cake cutting ceremony. It was the 1st time for some of them to visit our house!

Too bad my brother was away and my youngest uncle and wife couldn't come. Next year, we will have new members joining us!
